1. The word Navratri is derived by combining of two Hindi words - 'Nav' and 'Ratri' .
2. 'Nav' means nine and 'Ratri' means nights so this festival celebrated for nine-nights.
3. This festival is also known as Nav-Durga, that means nine forms of Goddess Durga.
4. On 10th day we celebrate Vijya-Dashmi that also known as Dushera.
5. It's celebrated as a victory day of Maa Durga on the demon Mahishasura.
6. On this day we worship Goddess Durga for prosperity and good health.
7. Navratri is the most auspicious and widely celebrated Hindu festivals. 
8. It is celebrated by the people with great joy and happiness. 
9. We worship Goddess Durga with all our devotion.
10. Some people do fast for all nine days with different ways.
11. In most of the places across the country, people decorate pandals of Idol of Maa Durga.
